    Patio slabbing ideas

Hey all! Doing some work this year and one of the jobs will be to re-do the patio. Currently all over the place and a lot of broken slabs. The main plan is to remove them all and then re-level the area and put some matching reclaimed sleepers against the mini garden wall so it all matches. Then...

    Drainage issues

Installed and works well. Still get some back flow, but at least not mounding up on the empty channel. Still wonder if a one way cable would help.

I can get some 3mm plastic to cover that unused gully. Can't find any of those blanking channels like Osma, even can't find those to buy.

Ah, any recommendations for fixings? Would screwing it be an incredibly stupid idea?

I can get some thin plastic sheet, cut to size and glue with solvent cement, block those unused gullies to see how it helps.

    Drainage issues

Interesting idea. I have seen chambers that have barriers you can install, but no option on ours.

    Drainage issues

That was my thought and worry, considering we have just had it all dug up and buried lol. Certainly something I could do myself at a later date.

    Drainage issues

Unfortunately not. Front of the house, just a down pipe from the guttering. Although I am getting that checked as I don't see water flowing down it much when it rains, so might be blocked at top, still won't be a much water in summer etc. Would a back flow valve be an idea?

    Drainage issues

Right, so we have had some right fun with our drains the past few months. We recently had a new inspection chamber installed as we had no access to our drains as the previous owners had build over the old one and we had started to have issues, so had the drive dug up and a chamber installed. So...

    Mag Filter

I'm having to replace a radiator valve due to a leak, so having to drain the system while I do the repair. First off I have heard that closing off the other rads will mean I don't have to drain the system as much, good idea? Now the main question is about the MAG filter, we have this one...

Here is the start of the sanding down. Almost got all the black off, needs some more all over, but you get the idea. This was just the first going over to get the black off.

Stain or Varnish for Book Shelf

We have an old book shelf we have had for a while, which was my parents before. Very solid so we want to keep it. Currently varnished black but we're going to sand it down and then either stain or varnish it... What would be best and also what brand/make varnish/stain to get? We want to...

I believe the cable is pyro from what I know. The cable going to the switch is extremely strong, so much be copper wrapped etc. Also, the cable with blue tape on it I have tested as live (providing my test driver was right!) So I assume the one with two blue wires attached is neutral.

With weather getting better I have got outside with our new house and started investigating the electrics out there. Now we have two switches inside, one for the patio lights, all working fine, another switch.. does nothing... there are some outside lights near the shed but they don't seem to...
