    Tile adhesive hell

This has worked but it's been rather tedious but satisfying, I did this much in about an hour or so. First issue was I'd not got the washer on provided in the herzo kit so it wasn't getting enough depth but that bit now works. Plus side of this is I'm not full of dust. The SDS Scraper on...

    Tile adhesive hell

When can you start :D What do you do if the chipboards under existing stud wall? I'll see what state it's in tomorrow, pretty sure AG and segmented blade will sort this mess out.

    Tile adhesive hell

I've ordered an AG vacuum guard and disc to do the AG option if the SDS scraper dosn't work. On the flooring im umming and aring about it, the chipboard runs under adjoining two stud walls, the leak we had wasn't buckets of water for long, so not sure how much constitutes replacing flooring...

    Tile adhesive hell

I have seen the AG as a Sander option, just means spending another 40 quid to work out if it'll work. I might buy a cheap vacumm attachment and disc and see how that goes. Won't it bite into the chipboard?

    Tile adhesive hell

I've lifted a load of tiles put in by previous tenants in my bathroom thats got about 4sqm coverage. They've put the adhesive on top of chipboard and I'm trying to remove the adhesive. Is this some sort of levelling screed put down? It's turning rubbery when I've clear a bit with a multi...

Looking for some advice on framing a wall-hung toilet

I'm doing my bathroom at the moment and I love the look of a floating hidden bog but can't see how maintenance of them will be of ease over its life span. I'm not even sure a hidden cistern with a boarded setup is any better? My water is very hard and I could see it easily becoming a mess in...

replacing Fascias and soffits - some advice

I'm sorry to see this level of issue @bigi I've seen some horror stories with dry verge jobs. I've just caped my fascia and really think I should had done eaves protection but after 25 years without it the existing fascia was only aged due to UV/weather exposure, the felt was "ok"

    Any tips for removal?

This has been the Bain for me when doing facias, the pins I've used at the smaller ones and strong when fully knocked in but minimal mistimed hammering and I was knackered. I found the only way was to plier and pull and try to gradually get lucky, not easy with force needed if on a ladder. I...

replacing Fascias and soffits - some advice

Ive just capped my house and learnt there is no real art to this if retrofitting! As long as you've secured it you'll be fine. You can buy variant sizes of polypins let alone worrying it'll fall off you try getting one out of wood when it's bent knocking it in and you need it out to replace it.

Trimming options on awkward corner section

I'm going to need this section of capped fascia tarted up. I. can put a 90 degree corner on the top board but it's the angled bit I'm scratching my head on to cover the end of the gable section of fascia??? It is up on the roofline so doesn't need to look perfect so was thinking I would cut up...

    Gable and box has bent

Im capping my wood facias and i have a bit of a wood bend situation. When the box end meets the front of the house when ive put a test bit of upvc on its got a 3-5degree bend when using a spirit level. Am i worrying about too much here when capping and it having a gap underneath? Options...

Peeling paint section on stud wall

Apologies I meant Dot & Dabbed! Thank you @Wayners lot of good P&D tips there, I did think it just needed to get put back to good, and suspected it might be a blob of D&B underneath causing the area aggro. When it's next decorated I'll review some options from Bin maybe to prime/seal it?

    Gable end help

I will be capping my gable ends as the next leg of my capping journey. Upon inspection of them they appear to have a very wide drop between soffit line and bottom Questions I've got seeking help; 1. Is this this deep for Aesthetics or this deep to provide enough coverage to the timbers? 2...

    Fascia capping problem

Ok, so job was done in about 3 days on/off over the bank holiday. Used an old line of fascia cut off to provide a jigsaw run of the fascia, i've saved 5M worth for the front of the house as taking it off every metre or so at a time got rather time consuming. Pain in the ars regardless...

Board under facia is rotten help/advise

I use an online retail that then comes from Eurocell/GAP and it is cheaper than buying from Eurocell/GAP....clueless how. I've had problems with fulfilment though, e.g. took delivery of 1k of order for my house and they (GAP) ended up missing most of the guttering attachments needed. OP...

    Fascia capping problem

Thanks for the tips. I agree, at height on the ladder for the test section it did wander, I am going to use a guide screwed in. Doing it on the ladder wasn't ideal so I'm hoping when my tower arrives Thursday it will be easier to manage the jig, plus the Makita Jig I've bought for this job...
