    Boiler air duct tube

    The flexible 75mm air duct tube inside my Potterton Statesman oil boiler has split. It's made of wire reinforced palstic. Is there any reason why I should not replace it with flexible aluminium ducting which is a lot cheaper than a replacement tube from Potterton. Thanks Mike

    Solenoid valve - oil pump

    Hi, what is the purpose of the solenoid coil mounted on a brass armature on the side of the Riello oil pump in my Potterton Statesman boiler. I believe it operates a valve in the pump, but would like to know why, when and how. Thanks

    Random lockout - Potterton Statesman 65/85 oil-fired boiler

    Haven't been able to check capacitor yet, but notice that the solenoid on the pump clicks, then the buzz starts, then it locks out. What does the solenoid control? The buzzing may be coming from that although it's bit difficult to pin down. Thanks Gaz for partsarena address - would I be able...

    No - there was no pump check. As it happens he fitted a new pump and motor about 6 months ago when pump started leaking and let oil into the motor. Yes - it's a Riello burner - 40-G5BF. Mike
