    Swap Fused Plate to 3pin

Feels a bit like overkill for a lamp. Will probably just buy a rechargeable one and leave the socket as it is in that case.

    Swap Fused Plate to 3pin

Can’t see that being an issue, it’s going to be one thing that sits there for the rest of time, so can stick a different plug on it. Say I were to put a standard 13A socket on there, would a single bulb lamp cause the breaker to trip? If not, what sort of load would?

    Swap Fused Plate to 3pin

It’s wired directly into the consumer unit with its own switch and RCD. Nothing else powered from it, just the old alarm

    Swap Fused Plate to 3pin

Afternoon folks, We’ve got a decommissioned alarm in the house which is wired directly to the consumer unit via a fused box (pictured). Can I just remove the fused plate and rewire it with a standard 3pin plug if I am getting rid of the spur to the alarm panel, or is there anything funky that I...

    Wet Room Door Frame

Ah, think I’ve got you. That’s just wood down to the tile floor with a bad attempt at grouting. There’s a metal threshold strip on the step too

    Wet Room Door Frame

Do you mean the bit that’s circled in red? That looks like two small blocks that have been put in to close the gap to the floor, differing heights because part of it goes to the step and part to the floor

    Wet Room Door Frame

Morning all, We have inherited a wet room in our new house that has a few nasties hiding in it- have sorted the dodgy grout, leaky loo and busted shower, next thing is the door frame. At the base of the frame, there has obviously been some water damage from the splashback of the shower...

    Door Slipped and Catching

    Door Slipped and Catching

Hi all, Out exterior door that leads into the garage seems to have slipped a bit, meaning that it is now rubbing on the bottom left hand side when closing, and I need to properly slam it to get it shut. Any ideas how I can adjust it to lift it back up again and stop it catching? Pictures...

    Garage Door Sticking

Yeah, the movement along the rail is actually smooth. So, oiled the world out of it and no change- seems that the top of the door has shifted a few mm which is causing the stick. Will have to play with it tomorrow to see if I can move it back at all. Anyone know if there are any bolts generally...

    Garage Door Sticking

Hi all, My manual garage door has recently started sticking in the top right hand corner meaning I have to give it a kick at the bottom to get it to open from the inside in the morning. Obviously not keen on doing that for much longer as I'll end up sticking my foot through it... Any...

Cold water drip from Electric Shower

I think it is a stream actually, just a slow one that presents as a drip when it collects on the front of the unit. Would a PRV fail see cold water coming out, or is it fitted after the water is heated?

Cold water drip from Electric Shower

Hi folks, A little issue with my Triton Aspirante electric shower- when running, I get a drip of cold water coming from the base of the unit. I had the front off this afternoon, and couldn't spot anything obvious wrong, so I am turning to the internet for help! First thought was that the inlet...
