Hi, Thanks for the replies! Yes I have RCDs in my consumer unit. The pump is connected via the fitted supply cable which had the standard live, neutral and earth cables - I've put a plug on this and it's connected to a socket in the siring cupboard (this is how the previous one was powered)...

Thanks for replies. This turned out to be unrelated to the work I'd done on the shower - had a boiler engineer come round and it was a blockage in the condensate trap causing it to fail to fire up. Annoyingly timed coincidence! Thanks, Jez

Attached image is the view in the cupboard above the boiler - I assume that is the pump so are the two black things some kind of bleed valve? If so then how do they work? It's a very tight opening so I can't get in to look - could only just get my hand in with the phone to take that photo to...

Should say that I managed to clear the air lock in the cold water pipe so I just need help on venting/bleeding air from the boiler and getting it going again. Thanks, Jez

Hi, I was fitting a new shower pump a few days ago and managed to get an airlock in the cold water pipes. When trying to clear it in normal ways had failed I was told (elsewhere I should add) to run the shower and put my finger over the end of the pipe so that the pressure from the hot water...

Thanks foxhole! Is cement board / aqua panel OK to screw into for the shower fixings? Do I need to use a particular type of wall plug to screw the fittings into the aqua panel?
