    Earth bonding for shower pump

Lol. Six are labelled as they were when I moved in, the other two don't appear to be in use as far as I can tell. The shed appears to be wired into the kitchen sockets much for some reason that I can't ascertain - that's the mcb that turns it off but it also turns off the freezer which is pretty...

    Earth bonding for shower pump

Thanks all. What would supplementary bonding entail? This is all new to me as I'm sure you can tell! Is there an online resource you can point me at that a layman like me would be able to understand? Thanks, Jez

    Earth bonding for shower pump

Hi, Thanks for the replies! Yes I have RCDs in my consumer unit. The pump is connected via the fitted supply cable which had the standard live, neutral and earth cables - I've put a plug on this and it's connected to a socket in the siring cupboard (this is how the previous one was powered)...

    Earth bonding for shower pump

hi, I've fitted a new shower pump as my old Mira one packed in. I've replaced it with a Stuart Turner Monsoon 3.0 bit have a question about the bonding. The four pipes were bonded together with earthing cable and this was then attached to a small earth screw on the bottom of the old Mira pump...

Air in glow worm boiler, not firing up

Thanks for replies. This turned out to be unrelated to the work I'd done on the shower - had a boiler engineer come round and it was a blockage in the condensate trap causing it to fail to fire up. Annoyingly timed coincidence! Thanks, Jez

Air in glow worm boiler, not firing up

Attached image is the view in the cupboard above the boiler - I assume that is the pump so are the two black things some kind of bleed valve? If so then how do they work? It's a very tight opening so I can't get in to look - could only just get my hand in with the phone to take that photo to...

Air in glow worm boiler, not firing up

Should say that I managed to clear the air lock in the cold water pipe so I just need help on venting/bleeding air from the boiler and getting it going again. Thanks, Jez

Air in glow worm boiler, not firing up

Hi, I was fitting a new shower pump a few days ago and managed to get an airlock in the cold water pipes. When trying to clear it in normal ways had failed I was told (elsewhere I should add) to run the shower and put my finger over the end of the pipe so that the pressure from the hot water...

Thanks foxhole! Is cement board / aqua panel OK to screw into for the shower fixings? Do I need to use a particular type of wall plug to screw the fittings into the aqua panel?

    20cm x 40cm ply board in shower

Hi all, I'm having to replace a two tile (20cm x 40cm) section of plasterboard in my shower cubicle due to a problem with the pipes where the shower mixer was attached. I've redone the pipes and had created a plywood board (9mm exterior ply) to replace the plasterboard with holes for the pipes...
