Artex - cost of removal or painting

I have a small hallway that needs the artex removed. Does the xtex stuff leave a surface I can paint straight on to? Hope I'm allowed to hijack the thread. Didn't see the point in starting a new one.

    Storage Heater problem

Sorry for not getting back sooner. The heater in the hall seems to be working (maybe it was the last time?). The sitting room one isn't so I've changed the fuse (something I can do!) and will see if it's working tomorrow. If not, I'll go out and check the timer. Thanks for the help :)

    Cost for ...

changing 3 ceiling lights, 2 wall lights and 2 light switches. A rough idea of cost would be more than I know now. I am in Aberdeen, Scotland.

    Removing flooring

They are 7.5" by 46". There is a join but i couldn't fit anything between it, I don't think. They are shiny, not old and faded. Maybe I should just employ someone to do it?!

    Removing flooring

I would if I could but it's what was there when I moved in and I'm not sure how to tell. It looks like boards but I can't really tell how they're joined. They go right under the bath.

    Storage Heater problem

Yes, it's two heaters. The timer is behind a glass screen and still has the on indicator at 11pm and off at 7pm. I will phone Scottish Hydro Electric and see what they say. I think the heating is the same as when the house was built 20 years ago.

    Storage Heater problem

Sorry, I'm completely clueless about it all. What usual checks? The controls on the heaters are the same as they've always been. The only timer I know of is on my meter and that seems the same as normal. If it isn't, then someone from the electricity company has changed it.

    Storage Heating

Thought they were pretty rubbish. What's the cheapest kind of heater to use over the winter? Oil Filled Radiator?

    Storage Heating

I have a storage heater in the living room that doesn't seem to heat the room throughout the day and evening. Would buying a new heater make a difference? It's likely the heater has been there for many years. I have a small one bedroom flat. Which would be the best kind of heating for me...

    Shower flow

    Can you help?

    Shower flow

Electric shower. Different supply to taps (I think). Hot water cylinder - yes, if that's a big tank. Shower is over bath. Not fitted at same time as bathroom. Think it's soft water. I've had a flat in this complex before and there wasn't a problem.

    Shower flow

The flow of water from my shower is really poor. However, the taps aren't a problem, actually the opposite - come on at a huge speed. Would buying a new shower improve the flow? Or is there something I could check to see if I can fix it.

Where to put a shower in a bath

My bathroom is set up like this and has been this way since the flat was built. Not the first bathroom I've had this way. When I get it refitted, should I ask for it the other way?!
