    Earth for outside light fitting...?

beepencil. I fitted a light the other day from habitat. (customer supplied it) The same one as the top left in your picture. The one I fitted has a double insulated symbol on it. Looks like this There isn't an earth terminal because you don't connect the earth.

    ceiling light

They should do. Are they all twisted together? It is easier if they are kept separate and put into the connector individually and straight. More cables will fit if you do that. How many earth/lives are there?

    ceiling light

You bought a 6amp what? Your question isn't very clear. If you are just replacing the fan with a pendant what is it that doesn't fit?

    concrete over cables

that's done when the walls are a bit naff. Rendering. Pretty sure it doesn't effect the cables. Is your property old? Have you had a damp course installed?

    TNS OR TNCS

craig. have a look at the suppliers main fuse. If it has PME written on it and the main earth cable goes into the actual cut out on the right then that would normally be TN-C-S. You won't be able to get at the terminal without breaking the seal though. If you can see that the main earth cable...

It would appear so. Don't even think about it! Very bad idea.

    spur off an FCU

If your existing socket is fed via the fused spur then you can add an extra socket. You can add as many you like as that leg will be protected by the fuse in the spur. Not a good idea if you plan to plug your tumble dryer and washing machine in of course, but perfectly legal from an install...

    Hotpoint TDC30P

Has this machine got a button that you press to start? If it has then it could be the relay. Remove plug. Remove lid. Top of the machine at the centre front. Plastic box with a small coil in it and lots of wires. Can't guarantee it of course, but that's quite a common fault.

    Servis W Machine Backfilling???

if it's clean water it will be one of the valves stuck open. If you turn off the isolation taps that will prove the point. ( so long as the taps are working ) /////////////if it stops filling then you will need to turn on one tap at a time to see which valve is faulty. Replacement is pretty...

    No connection to PME cutout

There used to be a very basic completion certificate that you could fill out for their records. Without it, nothing would happen. It was a two sided A4 sheet giving details of the supply, load etc stating that you take responsibility for the installation, that it’s installed to current...

What type of Consumer Unit should I choose?

Stefan, do you know what type of main earth you have? You need to know this and preferably be able to confirm it before you buy anything. If you buy the wrong piece of kit then it's going to cost you more in the long run. Do you know if any of the circuits supplying the socket outlets...

    Licence to print money???

If you think the price is too high the then best way to check is to get some more quotes. Unfortunate that some have decided not to come back to you but if you want to see if your first quote is reasonable, then the only way really is to get comparisons from people who have seen the work you...

wiring for mains powered smoke alarms

New smoke alarms will come with the wiring diagram. You will find that your brown blue and orange will be connected to a three core and earth in the upstairs detector and normally a twin and earth, and the other end of the three core in the downstairs detector. Not wishing to be rude, but...

A spanner would normally mean that the appliance requires attention from a service engineer, but given your location! Do you have a user manual? Most of them have a trouble shooting guide included. Have a look and see what F1 means.

Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 - Door Catch Broken

If it's just the catch and not the door lock, try getting a piece of string longer than the circumference of the door. Thread it between the door and the seal and pull the door catch towards the center of the door. So long as the door lock isn't jammed that sometimes works.
