Old shower waste - should I replace?

This is what it's like from above. The waste goes from the tray as a metal pipe then when it gets out, it appears to be plastic to a soil pipe.

Old shower waste - should I replace?

The tray seems a nice rare feature. Happy to replace the waste but just wondered if anyone has seen this existing type before?

Old shower waste - should I replace?

Shower 'tray' seems to be made of concrete/terrazo. Looking underneath, the waste pipe appears to be solid (not plastic). Should I replace this with a modern waste pipe? My concern is that it may not cope with a lot of waste shower water and there is no trap. Thoughts?

    'Gargling' basin air admittance valve

From memory: basin, toilet and shower is on another branch that joins the main stack, but the gargling has been just when the basin tap is running.

    'Gargling' basin air admittance valve

I have access to the soil stack which the toilet and and basin connect - could I / should I use an external air admittance valve there?

    'Gargling' basin air admittance valve

I have a basin making a 'gargling' noise. It looks like a 32mm (I think) S trap is fitted but space seems to be pretty tight under there. What's the best way to fit an air admittance valve?

Mixer showers - worth paying the extra?

Are 15mm connections enough for mixer showers which promise 15-20 l/min? Edit: just seen specs which say 1/2" which is 15mm

Mixer showers - worth paying the extra?

I'm looking for a 'high output' (fed by unvented cylinder) mixer shower with a large shower head and wand. Seems to be a massive range of price from from £100 to £1200. So what's the difference between one of these: http://www.betterbathrooms.com/showers/shower-towers Or these...
