Brown goo on dishes inside dishwasher after wash

I did wonder about the spray arms as it always looks like the goo has dripped down into stuff from above...but I couldn't see anything in them. Yes, always get rid of fat before putting stuff in

Brown goo on dishes inside dishwasher after wash

Just recently my dishwasher (Bosch) has started leaving random deposits of a brown, sticky goo on certain items in the dishwasher. The dishwasher is about 5 years old and still works a treat...no issues at all. Then about 2 weeks ago this started happening. It doesn't appear every time but...

Cable gland that will accept cable with larger diameter pre-fitted RJ45 plug...?

I'm fitting a ReoLink security cam system at home and one of the cameras needs to be mounted on the wall, just under the rear upstairs window. The camera (PoE) is pre-wired with a female RJ45 socked, so I want to run a cat6 cable down the wall from the loft into a junction box on the wall, then...

Replaced kitchen tap washer and now tap is slow to turn off

Well, bizarrely enough, the tap is now stopping quickly like it used to. I didn't actually do anything...it's just sorted itself out! Maybe just needed some time to bed in...?!

Replaced kitchen tap washer and now tap is slow to turn off

Both old and new valves have 20 spines, so it's kinda weird that they sit differently. D'you think it looks slow to turn off in the vid? Or is that normal? It's definitely slower than the old one

Replaced kitchen tap washer and now tap is slow to turn off

Thanks for the info (y) Re the tap alignment...I'm under a bit of pressure to get them to line up, if you catch my drift! ;) (You never know, once it's been like this for a few days, it might get overlooked!). Good suggestion re the tape though - I'll give it a try if a fix is demanded requested!

Replaced kitchen tap washer and now tap is slow to turn off

My kitchen mixer tap (quarter turn, approx 5-6 years old) had a dripping cold tap so I've replaced the cartridge with a new one from Screwfix: https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-1-2-bsp-quarter-turn-ceramic-tap-glands-pack/2611f Two issues...firstly, when the tap is fully off, the handle is...

Heating is too warm when weather is milder

Something else I've noticed is that the room temperature shown on the TRV is quite different to the temperature shown on an independent thermometer...sometimes by about 5-6 degrees. Is that normal?

Heating is too warm when weather is milder

I have an Intergas Xclusive 30 which was fitted a couple of years back, along with EvoHome. Generally I've been pretty pleased with the whole setup, but one thing I've noticed is that if there's a mild spell during winter, it feels like the rooms get a bit too hot/stuffy and I have to tweak...

Thanks muggles I have now managed to get in touch with the installer and he's arranging for Intergas to contact me.

Intergas Xtreme 30 showing fault code F014

Hi everyone I had an Intergas Xtreme 30 fitted last October and just this morning it stopped providing hot water. It's showing fault code F014 which the manual defines as "Mounting fault sensor S0. Heat exchanger sensor S0 is not mounted correctly. Mount the sensor correctly". Sod's law being...

Moving radiator along wall...how big a job?

I'm getting a new boiler fitted and installing EvoHome as well along with the wireless TRVs. The dining room radiator is not in the middle of the wall and consequently about 6-8 inches of the TRV end of the radiator is behind a cupboard. The pipes for the radiator come up through the...

    EvoHome with a Vaillant boiler?

Thanks for the recommendation...Mike's been really helpful with all my (many!) questions and helped decide on an Intergas boiler. He's going to be fitting it the week after next so I'm looking forward to having a boiler that actually works properly! :-)

Are deaerators a necessity with combi boiler?

I'm shortly going to be getting a new combi boiler fitted and one of the options the installer has offered is to fit a deareator. I'd never even heard of such a thing before but with Google's help I do at least have a vague idea what one does now. What I'm not sure about is whether it's a...

    EvoHome with a Vaillant boiler?

Just when I thought I'd narrowed it down to a choice of one...! o_O:D Thanks for the recommendation. Can I ask, is that recommendation based simply on the fact that he's geographically the closest Intergas-approved supplier/fitter? Or that he's the closest one you'd actually recommend? Only...
