    Weep vents?

John, do you know what. I am going to do what you said. I am just going to leave this. Its making me unwell! I can't stop thinking about this stupid patio. I have shelled out so much on it. I am going to take you advice. Which is wait, let it dry and see what happens. It was laid at the end of...

    Bad patio

Thanks Noseall. The person said that due to the poor base it is retaining moisture and not drying out as it should. It would appear on clay soil he has not dug down enough. So when the water table rises it soaks up through the shallow base. This is causing the strange slab colour. The same...

    Weep vents?

Answer has been sort. The base of the patio is retaining moisture and has not been construced properly. You can tell by the 2 tone colour of the slabs. It will probably need to come up. They are Marshall slabs. This is making the wall wet.

    Snow in loft

Just went to neighbours they have had it too. Seems like a big thing in the news as well. New builds across Bristol have had it. Some removing enough snow to fill a bath tub

    Weep vents?

Thanks Woody. Really useful just one thing to add in that corner is the waste down pipe from the bathroom. Although I am doubtful this is a cause as when I dug up the ground for the acos it wasn't really wet. So if there was a leaking pipe I would assume the ground I was digging up would be wet...

    Weep vents?

It gets damp near the bricks. The picture attached shows this. It is starting to dry out a bit as no rain for two days. Although the picture is old. I have fitted the acos since then. Although no change.

    Weep vents?

Just concerned. No other house appears to have this on the street. I added the acos last month to try and solve the problem. Seemed to work for about 2 weeks and now they are really wet again. Some are starting to go green I think I will get a surveyor to take a look.

    Weep vents?

Dear all, Would weep vents help these bricks dry out. There is no air bricks in the house and this area just doesn't dry out. Or could I just drill some holes? Cheers.

    Bad patio

Hi thanks for that. I just keep worrying about it. The bricks below only ever dry for a small period of time and they dry much slower than every where else. The fact that the gaps between the slabs stay wet even when the pavements everywhere are dry is making me think that the ground below...

    Bad patio

Notice that some of the gaps between the slabs are still wet. This also seems to happen alot. So maybe a leaking pipe?? Or could it just be the ground is saturated so this is the cause??
