Drayton Wiser TRV head fitting (ID that valve type)

What did you do eventually on this? I have the same valves. What exactly did Drayton support say? The wiser trv head fits fine on these valves, however it seems to me that they don't open all the way up when demand is 100%.

Are there any good quality corner TRVs in the market?

Oh that's an interesting idea, wonder how that looks, anyone got pics? I'll look into it, that may be the best solution. I did find that Drayton makes corner valves after all, pretty hard to find though and cost about £60 each (without the TRV head!)

Are there any good quality corner TRVs in the market?

I am fitting one new towel rail and two normal radiators, in all cases 15mm copper pipes will come out of wall. Ideally I would like to use corner valves - TRVs and lockshields, as opposed to angled valves, to avoid the TRV protruding too much into the room. However, all the corner valves I...

    Glowworm ultracom2 cxi - UFH

My house has a glowworm ultracom2 CXi 35 combi, feeding the radiators on all floors and for hot water in showers and taps. The heating element is controlled by a Nest 3rd gen thermostat. I am going to do a ground floor refurb, and will be installing underfloor heating on the ground floor only...

    New socket from spur

So I have a (20cm long) spur that has a single socket AND a 3A FCU. I don't believe it's non-compliant as it can't overload the cable. Professionals seems to be split on this issue (both here and in other forums I have searched online). I'd appreciate a segment from the regs that specifically...

    New socket from spur

TBH i'm not sure if it's really a spur or a radial circuit itself, since the cable begins on the MCB? Out of curiosity, what do the regs say about multiple rings beginning on a single MCB - are those multiple circuits or one? What about a ring and a radial on one MCB? Get's tricky! In any...

    New socket from spur

Yes he fitted normal 2-core and earth 2.5mm cable from consumer unit to FCU. A smaller cable from FCU to alarm box.

    New socket from spur

Thank you very much, I'll do that! Just out of curiosity, what is the reasoning behind using the supply side terminals of the FCU instead of the load side? So that the socket is unfused?

    New socket from spur

The new spur runs of a 32A MCB (along with a couple of downstair socket rings). The boiler-side part of the thermostat is wired next to the boiler. The wireless part can be moved from room to room and the place I decided to install it is outside of the under-stairs cupboard. That's the most...

    New socket from spur

My house's central consumer unit is located inside the under-stairs cupboard. Recently an alarm engineer installed a fused spur in order to power up an alarm control panel. So now there is: [Consumer unit]->spur cable->[3A FCU]->cable->[alarm box] I was wondering what is the best way to get...

New fused spur out of CU for alarm - certificate?

Not sure if I should have posted this in the Electrics sub-forum - feel free to move if needed. I called an alarm engineer to install a new home alarm system. This was installed in the under-stairs cupboard, near the house's consumer unit. To get power inside the cupboard, the engineer opened...

Pyronix Enforcer V10 - parts and design questions

Good point about the manuals! Right now I feel quite confident that I can handle the installation. I think I'll go ahead with self-install (with some support here I hope!) and if I can't manage I'll call someone to help me out. 1. on sim cards: It looks like the Enforcer box is small can can...

    Smoke alarm notifications

If you have a a smart burglar alarm (e.g. pyronix v10), you can add a wireless smoke detector to it for about £60. The alarm will alert you when it goes off with notifications on your phone; the alarm can connect to the internet via wifi/gprs/pstn etc. Also, if you have a Nest smart thermostat...

Pyronix Enforcer V10 - parts and design questions

I will be replacing an old grade1 DIY wireless system in my 3bed semi with something more reliable, and importantly, something I can control with my phone remotely. After much research, I think Pyronix Enforcer V10 with HomeControl+ seems to be the best grade2 wireless system for remote control...
