Hi had my kitchen ceiling skimmed about 5 weeks ago, over the top of the old ceiling which was just in a bad state. It was boarded originally. Everything has been fine, until yesterday, I noticed a yellow stain in one of the corners. Ironically it’s the corner than dried out first after...
I recently had a Homebuyers survey on a property I’m looking to purchase. A Victorian cottage.
It’s appears that one of the Chimneys was removed, and the surveyor has shown concern over how it’s supported in the loft space. There are also some redundancy brackets there too, and loose brickwork...
Hi Ken,
thanks for your reply. I’ve lived here 8 years and there’s never been this problem. It was painted in exactly the same colour in emulsion, but, back in August I painted in the same colour but in bathroom paint. It still looked absolutely fine until about 10 days ago, when it appeared...
Hi all,
One of my bathroom walls is an external Victorian wall. It’s been damped checked etc. It was previously painted with matt emulsion with no problems, however I got same colour in Dulux bathroom paint and painted it in that in August.
It looked absolutely fine, until about 2 weeks ago...
Hi,
Thanks for replying. I chopped all of it out, the last time I repaired it, it goes to the brick after about 5-7mm. Doesn’t seem to be anything there that should be. It repairs fine, but reappears over time.
Hi!
I have had a little patch, about the size of a large coin on my exterior kitchen wall, then keeps pushing outwards/cracking/splitting. If I repair it with filler, it’s fine for about a month, then gradually happens again.
Any ideas? Photos attached.
The silicon is sound both sides of the screen. This is also the 3rd different screen I’ve had, and the problem has remained the same.
I’ve tried a few different things when repairing... I’ve filled it first (so it looks smooth, as there’s several layers of paint), then primed with with Zinsser...
I feel like I've written about this a million times, but here goes....

I’ve had it checked or damp. No pipes either. Also, when I’ve had tiles removed previously, the wall dries out in a day or two, and stays dry, even in bad weather.
Bear with me, this is a long story:
This the 5th time I've had this work done, and no body seems to know the cause. I have a bath mounted shower, which comes off a bath mixer tap which come from the floor. (THERES NO PIPES IN THE WALL). This was all originally fitted with new tiles after I...
