Garage Extension and Attached Garden Room

Hi all, I have a single detched garage that I'd like to extend to a double. Block built, I can keep that within the limit of the 30sqm for building regs. If however I additionally build a 12sqm garden room on the back, does that push me over the limit? Common sence tells me it does. If I...

Acrowing existing Steels holding a cavity wall

Brilliant. Makes absolute sense Woody. Was going to prop at two points on each 3 meter beam (four acrows in total) so it shares to load and provides some resilience in case one fails. Does that sound right?

Acrowing existing Steels holding a cavity wall

We're planning to knock through a load supporting wall and hold up two pairs of existing RSJ's with a steal column. The column has been calculated to need 152x152x23kg UC What is the appropriate way to acrow the steal beams while removing the wall supporting one end? Considering there are 2...

Mystery shower thing? Anyone know what it is?

To save you guys any further sleepless night worried that i’d been washed away or spied on.. I can confirm I found a steam generator under the shower. A little googling tells me it’s as old as the hills but I got a company name Hydra-Spa so might drop them a line and see if it’s functional or...

Mystery shower thing? Anyone know what it is?

It’s in my house here in the UK. Just moved in a few weeks back but it wasn’t really a priority. Now you guys have me paranoid it’ll be dismantled this weekend. I’m pretty convinced is a basic steam generator. I’m wondering if the led and locating pin is actually a thermometer? I’ll dig under...

    Eurosec CPX Keypad

No joy sadly. Also contacted Risco who will only deal with trade. I took the keypad off the wall earlier while the system was powered up and it didn't trigger a tamper alert. I'm going to do a continuity test on the data line tomorrow. Although you guys might tell me if it switches to the...

    Eurosec CPX Keypad

Pretty confident. It has the wireless module added on it and the vocomm connection to the phone line. The original installers also confirmed it was a CPX. I’ll double check though.

    Eurosec CPX Keypad

Thanks sparkymarka, No I never used the code so it could be a dud. The callout charge is going to be £96 plus parts. I’m wondering if returning to the factory for reset is an option or just buying a new panel and fitting myself. The CPX seems to be a good piece of kit but been around for a...

    Eurosec CPX Keypad

I've moved into a new house with a Eurosec CPX system installed and I triggered a tamper alarm by knocking one of the PIR's. The keypad during alarm state says "!!ENTER CODE!! !!!!CHECK!!!!" However entering codes (or anything for that matter) at the keypad has no effect. The buttons beep but...
