ADT Couldn't set system today due to low fob battery!

Ok in case anyone else ever has this problem I removed the fob from the user through the menu systems and then added it again. That then seemed to allow me to set the system. I don't know if thats a bug with the board or what I did was the right thing to do (short of calling ADT) but it worked.

ADT Couldn't set system today due to low fob battery!

HI I did search the forums here for quite a bit and couldn't find an answer to this. So, one of the fobs had a low battery which I replaced. But the panel (I think it is a Honywell Galaxy2 system) says there is a fault "FOB BAT" and when I try and acknowledge the fault it says "USer reset...

Ideal RD1 Boiler stopped working please help !!!!

Many thanks for your reply Tony. I have read many of your posts with useful (and occasionally some less useful but sometimes amusing) posts from yourself and am happy you replied to one of my posts! About 18 month ago I did pay for a local gas safe engineer to service the boiler which he did...

Ideal RD1 Boiler stopped working please help !!!!

Ok, in case anyone as daft as I has the same problem, there is a reset button on the right side of the boiler which I think is pressed after the temperature of the boiler got too high. So as soon as I pressed this button (it isn't that obvious as a button but more a protusion) all was good...

Ideal RD1 Boiler stopped working please help !!!!

HI No hot water and house running on electrc fans. 8-( I have an Ideal 3100 Rd1 and LED light 3 is flashing when it powers on. The manual says sensor fault so reading other posts (and my own from 9 months ago) I replaced the sensor harness again. However this time it hasn't worked and the...

loft tank flooded most of house

I know this is an old thread but the context help explain my question far better than a new one. If that ball valve had been fitted by the householder DIY then would the insurance company still have to pay for the damage? If it had been fitted correctly would they have to pay? If it...

    Wall growing up through floor!

Many thanks for the replies. After trimming down the blocks and bricks, do I need to ensure that when I fill between the beams/joists that the bricks/blocks are wedged tight inbetween as they seem to be now and do I need to worry about mortar or anything like that? Thanks again.

    Wall growing up through floor!

HI In an upstairs bedroom, I noticed the floorboards are not all flat. There are two lines of "humps" where they had been pushed up. I removed the floorboards on one of them and found underneath the top of a block wall that the joists are seemingly resting on. The problem is that top of the...

Connection to ball valve. Compression or tap connector?

Many thanks for that!! Does that mean you can use a tap connector wherever a compression is used and vice-versa? If not, when is one normally used in preference over the other?

Connection to ball valve. Compression or tap connector?

Hi I just changed the ball valve for the cold water tank in the loft. The existing valve was an apparently regular part2 valve but the plumber who connected it used a compression fitting onto the tail of the valve. I was sure I'd previously seen tap connectors being used there instead...

    Peglar part 2 ball valve

I just bought this valve hoping for something reasonably well made. It seems like there is quite a bit of sideways play in the arm (so that if you really forced it you could probably move the base of the arm past the piston thing so that the valve wouldn't close!) but I don't know if that is...

Geberit Duofix cistern overflow into pan after flushing

I do have this problem - or at least similar and can't find any instructions which tell you how to either adjust or dismantle from within the flush plate. Could you provide a link to the video you found on the french website? Do I need to speak french to understand it ? Maybe someone else...

Lintel needed for 46cm wide shower box?

The walls are now mostly covered in plaster but the blocks at the top of the box are exposed which tells me that they are at least 29cm long (but could be longer I don't know) and are about 11cm deep. They are grey and I think original in a 1970s build house.

Lintel needed for 46cm wide shower box?

Oh, perhaps I should have been clearer that this is in an external cavity wall with the box cutting into the first skin of the wall.

Lintel needed for 46cm wide shower box?

Hi We're having a new bathroom installed including a recessed soap/shampoo box which has been cut into the first skin of an existing inner block wall. It is 46cm wide. The bathroom fitters have said it doesn't need a lintel but I would definitely be grateful for a second opinion not least...
