Hi thanks for the replies, I have removed the light switch and tested the wires that directly run into the switch they are dead. Light will work off the loop but would be permanently on Cheers

Hi my kitchen light suddenly stopped working. I have tested the wires into the switch and they are dead, the loop in the ceiling is fine. Don;t think it's breaker related as it just the switch, just wondering if I have missed something before calling in an electrician. Thanks

The loop in the ceiling is also fine, I am thinking the cable directly to light may have been damaged in some way but have had no current work done in that area.

Hi Thanks, the contractor terminated the one side light but the Kitchen light has always worked up to now. I have tested the the switch wires and are fine coming in and also with a known working light fitting. Cheers

No checked them as well all good, Have checked the voltage at the Switch good too.

Hi all, Our kitchen light failed about 2 weeks ago, I am normally OK with electrics but have got myself messed up. We have a 2 way gang switch fitted in the kitchen that controlled the celling light and side light. We had tiling done where the guy fitting it terminated the side light so...

I have one, I was just wondering if it was possible to replace a 2 with a one if not I will rewire the 2 gang back up. Cheers

The picture I posted was my attempt at connecting through a single switch as I only need the ceiling light. If this is not possible I will attempt the 2 way switch wiring. Cheers

2 cables, red and black wire from each. One black has tape on suggesting a switched live I think. Cheers
