    Bosch W3201 F05 Error

Our machine has just come up with this error. The motor tries to run and flicks the drum round but makes a chirping noise. I assume this will be megabicks to fix but thought I would ask before scrapping the machine. Regards - J

    Huge electric bills???

Fit a plug in timer on the tumble dryer, fit a timer on the immersion and use economy 7 electricity at night (much cheaper). Our Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Tumble Dryer and Storage heater in my shed all come on at 02:00 and we don't have a bill anything like yours. Regards - J

Why use encryption on a wi-fi link

I have to disagree with the above statement, in general most of what you have said is true and in some cases the above statement may be true. Being connected to a network doesn't automatically give you access to resources. I have software that can crack WEP encoding within a couple of minutes...

air conditioning for heating? or separating 1rooms radiators

I've had aircon / heatpump installed in my house for the last 15 years plus. I haven't had a problem heating during the coldest winters, I have recently replaced 2 units with more modern ones and the performance of these was even better. I do still have gas central heating, the primary reason...

    Natural gas powered vehicle

LPG Diesel conversions are possible. The diesel pump system is modified to always supply diesel at the same rate required at tickover. LPG is injected into the inlet manifold, when the air/lpg/diesel mix is in the cylinder, the diesel fires as normal by the heat induced by compression which in...

    Mitre angles in aluminium extrusion

I cut aluminium extrusions regularly with a titanium tipped blade in a normal wood chop saw. I agree with most of what the previous poster said but in my experience it cuts ok provided that you don't go through it too fast, nice a gently does it. Regards - JB

    Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 3 cyl

Double check that all cables have been refitted especially the heavy earth cable to the engine (if removed). Try connecting a jump lead from the battery -ve to the engine block and see if it will start then. Regards - J

    Goverment Tracker

I'm with crafty1289 on all of this, only the guilty have anything to fear, civil liberties is a load of hogwash and is used as a shield. Many times the value of CCTV systems has been proved tracking criminals. Regards - J

    Vauxhall Vectra stalling problem.

Forget the cleaners in the tank, they make very little (if any) difference. The usual cause of this sort of problem is the Idle Speed Control valve. Usually it gets gummed up / sticky, spray carb cleaner into it and give it a good wash out. Similar treatment to the throttle body (around the...

    Vans milage question?

You are of course entitled to your opinion, I run 6 vans in my business and I've done the rounds. VW are way, way too expensive on parts and often parts are not available. Their depreciation is also high. Merc Sprinters are very, very fast, reliable, depreciation not too bad but expensive to...

    one year off the road

DON'T do this, it's illegal - NO MOT & NO Tax ! A car stood for a year is no big deal, take a look at some of the car storage compounds. My Sons Fiesta stood outside, unwashed for 10 months. Last week, we checked it over, charged the battery, started it up and it went straight through it's...

    Vans milage question?

The mileage isn't that relevant it's the service history thats important. My current transit (2001) has 350,000 miles on the clock and drives like new, starts first touch of the key every time. Regards - J

    speeding etc

Many moons ago I had exactly this situation. I had a company car - a Ford Escort MKII. It had a new speedo fitted under warranty after 8000 miles. I was on the motorway and noticed the boys in blue behind, I was sat exactly at 70 on the speedo. They moved to the outside lane and came alongside...

Cut holes for downlights before or after skim?

My builder said I was mad wanting to cut the holes after. I have on a previous project done them before and it was hopeless, loads of grief clearing the holes. Get a good holesaw, nice and steady, not too much pressure and you'll be fine. Regards - J

Running a current through garage door handle?

Portable Air Conditioning units!! - Beware

Ouch, that sounds bad. You're absolutely right about the amount of moisture removed - it's amazing and incidently it's the moisture being removed that makes you feel more comfortable (the lower temp also helps but the humidity has a greater effect). It sounds like a very expensive unit, usually...

Running a current through garage door handle?

It's obviously getting too difficult for you now, go and have a lie down in the middle of the road for a while or get the nurse to bring you your medication. :P
