    Pump running constantly

The boiler is an Albion 17669 . The setup consists of a Siemens programmer, Grundfos Alpha pump and Iifa(or something similar) 3 way valve. The valve 'lever' operates correctly when HW and CH are switched on. It doesnt look like there are any microswitches inside to get stuck. Also on the...

    underground junction box

BAS no way even one swa gland could be fitted into the lights. As with a lot of these fittings today, not much thought has gone into the installation. I agree with you that some lights on sale today seem barelly 'legal' but the fittings have been purchased already (not by me). Regarding...

    underground junction box

Fittings are designed to be installed at or near ground level yes BAS. The cable entry is a 'diaphram' seal inside on overall enclosure. Believe it or not the literature instructs the use of silicon to seal the outer enclosure. Fittings are IP44. No mention of wiring methods in literature but...

    underground junction box

Im aware flew isnt suitable for burying but in the situation i have i could probably get round it. The lights are to be mounted on wooden sleepers sunk into the ground. The idea was to fit an underground jb to the base of the sleepers and flex up the sleeper into the fitting. The flex would then...

    underground junction box

Got some lights to wire in a garden. Plan is to run an swa underground to each point and then use a flex up to each fitting, as the fittings will only accept flex and not swa. Looking at 8 fittings so at some points an incoming and outgoing swa will be present , as well as the flex. It is...

    outside light

Thanks so far for the advice. The hallway does have twin and earth run on brickwork already and whilst i agree it isnt ideal it is neatly done. The better way would be conduit i agree but its an area where its not likelly to get damaged and the twin and earth has been run into white moulded...

    outside light

nah, sorry secure, havent got a camera or phone one. Its got a round rubber ring in it that gets compressed as a seal- not going to close up on flat cable.

    outside light

The gland on the light is round and the flat twin and earth wouldnt go in right. I also would prefer the black flex asthetically. They arent back to back no, the run from the switch to fitting would be in view, the location is a hallway/porch though so doesnt matter. Yes to a neutral.
