    galvanised (steel) pipe

Hi Breezer, As an old man I would say your pipe is good for at least half a century. If it is submerged in ordinary water even longer. Abrasion and atmosphere are the biggest threats. geegee.

    Wickes control unit

I have a Wickes RWB9 cw control unit in my airing cupboard still set by the previous occupants. I do not have any instructions or manual. Visability of setting panel is very poor and my eyesight is past its best. Do I need some instructions or is the setting fool-proof? The unit is...

    Hiding pipework

Thanks another_sparky, I would guestimate that the pipes were installed some twenty years ago, before I bought the house. There is no staining. Just humps that cannot be rubbed down. I’m trying to make the wall look flatter. Hopefully by applying something with a better covering ability...

    Hiding pipework

I have central heating pipework chased into old plastered walls, both horizontal and vertical runs. Unfortunately, old is the operative word. Plaster depth and age of plaster make it impossible to hide with wallpaper. The main offending wall, is a stair wall which has other bad areas needing...

    re-locating sink unit

I wish to move a one and a half sink unit. I think it is an MFI installation. They are slightly smaller than average compression fittings but do...

    Boiler, electric?

Thanks Oilman & Breezer, My hope was to just swop the C.H. gas boiler with an electric one and to position it in a better place, (not on the kitchen wall as at present). Beginning to look like a pipe dream.

    Boiler, electric?

The only domestic one I have found so far is over three feet cubed. Manufactured by Amptec, Basingstoke. I was hoping for something a tad smaller.

    Bath, replacing.

gawd, how green can you get. Brought a new bath home today, a white enamelled steel one to replace a fibre glass one. On unpacking I learn that it needs "bath anchors" to fix it. I've no idea what or where to get these. Polite advice would be appreciated.
