Sealing bath where it meets tiling.....

Hi WhaleBat - No, not your imagination :D , but I spotted Softus's post and thought he had it all well covered. I agree with Softus 100% on the use of Dow Silicone, but you might like to buy a couple of cheaper tubes of silicone for a practice session using cardboard or timber, or anything...

Sealing bath where it meets tiling.....

Hi - Softus has just about covered it. We'll have to agree to disagree on the 'skinning' aspect :D . Personally, I prefer to leave it just a couple of minutes before applying spit wetted finger. Regards

Hello there ....Ive some awful news ...

I am so sorry Moz - Typically, I completely misunderstood this post. I thought it was all a windup, and posted accordingly. Thanks to whoever removed the offending post. There's nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. Take care. Regards.

    Shower/Bath Mixer no power

Hi - Almost certainly a pressure problem. Gravity fed from coldwater storage in the loft? Yes? The cistern is probably just resting on the ceiling joists. Raising the cistern higher in the loft, assuming you have the room is an option.

I'm a newbie so hesitate to even comment. Where is Moz? He is obviously very distraught. Can nobody contact him except through this Forum?

Sealing bath where it meets tiling.....

Hi - Decide what size of bead you want and cut the nozzle at 90 degrees, not 45 as is often suggested. Assuming you are right-handed, you will find it easier to apply moving from right to left. Hold the trigger of the gun in your right hand and place your left hand about 2" back from the base...

    Gosford Park

Picked up a set of headphones to plug in to the front of the tv, with volume control, from Currys, for under £10.00. I think there is far too much intrusive backround sound in most films/tv programs these days. I know that people are standing in an airport, I don't need to hear a 747 taking...

    ID chips in wheelie bins

Hi All - Paying for your rubbish collection by weight is definitely coming to a bin near you. Currently I pay 40p a week for my rubbish to be collected, included in the Council Tax. The Council's proposed costs for 'Chip 'n Bin' (or bag), is 50-80p per kilo. Being the sad git that I am I...

    restoring slate flagstones

Hi - How wide are these joints? I have cleaned joints out using a small angle grinder, fitted with a diamond disc, and a vacuum cleaner. The angle grinder is applied to the joint and the end of the vacuum hose is held close to the back of the disc to collect the dust. Do it a small bit at a...

    Removing cement from wall tiles

Hi - Someone else in these Forums has suggested using a limescal remover on glass. It might we worth giving it a test run first in an inconspicuous area just to see if it works (or not)

how to cut hole's in the centre of a ceramic tile ?

Hi - What are these tiles made of? You can get circular cutters that will cut right through the tile. How tidy do the holes need to be? Will they be covered by a 'shroud' eg supplies coming through the wall into a shower valve/wall-mounted taps? With ceramic tiles, when I've been without my...
