Suprima 30L - Wont fire up Problem - HELP

fan 48 ohms is ok, top to bottom pin on gas valve (from memory) is 4.1Kohms, these two components sound ok, igntion sequence should be (along the lines of) 1. demand on switched live 240Vac, 2.thermistor and potentiometer (knob) demanding heat, 3. air pressure switch checked open circuit (some...

Fixed priced British Gas emergency repair as per the advert

But a £150 PCB (Ferroli anyone?) and there is a loss right away. Swings and roundabouts isn't it? Obviously 1000 jobs at £168 must lead to some sort of profit margin. I know people who are already kicking the behind out of this deal...burst back boiler heat exchanger...I know who I'd phone with...

    BAXI BERMUDA 401 ADVICE NEEDED

Have a look at http://www.baxi.co.uk/literature/index.php?type=installer - try to verify the boiler/fire combination. If the model of fire fitted is not compatible with the boiler you have, then NEITHER should be left operational. The correct fire needs to be fitted to the correct boiler to...

    Hot Water not too hot

Without any info on the boiler/system I couldn't begin to speculate. Direct all your queries to the engineer when he comes back on Monday, check the shower temperature while he is still there. If you have a combi, your shower should be back to normal immediately if the repair is successful. If...

    Vokera Excell

Vokera do a cheap service kit with all the perishable hydraulic bits and pieces including the bobbin/washer making your screaming nose. Get someone to fit the whole kit in about an hour...

    Potterton Powermax HE85

I would go for the Worcester...I personally believe there are "issues" with the Powermax HE but have nothing other than anecdotal evidence as yet as they are relatively new on the market. I work for neither Baxi or Worcester BTW :?

    Vokera Excell Plate HE

The hex nut is in behind the left hand flow group diaphragms etc. Please bear in mind if you shear this securing nipple, (I think) it is an obsolete part...plenty of WD and easy as you go. Vokera used to do a kit of tools (fixed hex/allen key type things) for removing these. Vokera part number...

    Problem with Suprima 50

IMHO 70%+ of ignition lockouts on these are the ignition lead breaking down...you do replace this as part of the PCB wiring harness so the fault is always assumed attributable to the PCB. Check the HT ignition lead first - expect almost a dead short down it. I DON'T work for Baxi/Potterton...

New Rad nowhere near as warm

What size of pipework feeds the bathroom rad? if it is 8/10mm and there is a bit of a pipe run to the new rad, all the balancing in the world may not help...may need new rad teed of a larger supply (15mm minimum, 22mm preferable) THEN system balanced

Ferroli Modena 80E running hot then cold then hot

Fan venturis have a habit of "disintegrating" - i've found a few outside having been spat out the flue by the fan blades, this can give HW hot/cold/hot

    gloworm swiftflow 80 wont fire

after the hijacking of this thread :D .....this is a permanent pilot version I think? Powering off/on on these should give pump/fan (high speed) on for 30secs, then pump off/fan low speed. This is a rudimentary self check on the PCB (if this doesn't happen and pump and fan are proved ok - PCB...

Baxi 105e - Intermittent central heating failure

Symptoms DO sound like a sticky DHW microswitch (most likely)/stuck diverter pin...get your Corgi man back and if you can get it to fault leave it in that position until he gets there...don't turn tap on/off. He should then be able to diagnose it very quickly

    Boilermate 2000 still blowing fuses

sorry just re-read your post - don't know what your technical background is, but if none of that made sense to you, get someone in who knows what they are doing and has a bit of back up (national company?) to have a good look at it. PS thermostat on pipe may be a linked to a frost thermostat...

    Boilermate 2000 still blowing fuses

I'd be checking all current carrying components live->earth for signs of a short, then be looking for water leaks getting into anything. Sorry but intermittent blowing fuses can be a pain to locate - I'll dig out the BM2000 manual tomorrow and see if anything jumps out at me. The main live comes...

    Vokera 24 Linea - DHW

Air pressure switch can be dropping out. Does the main burner come on at high, not drop to low rate but go off - then after short while, reignite at high again? Quick tip on most of Vokera range for this type of problem, loosen the combustion cover (either 2 bottom spring clips or 8 screws) just...

Baxi 130 HE Combi..CH not hot enough.

If this is set up with the same PCB as the Combi 80e/instant range, I am sure you can fit the knobs 180degrees (i.e. 9 o'clock is 3 o'clock) round the wrong way - result is low is high and high is low (approximately). Can you rotate the knob properly from lowest setting to highest setting...

    ICOS SYSTEM BOILER NO LIFE

I agree, water leak (condensate, system or domestic) is usual suspect. Check the violet wiring harness between the user and main PCBs for continuity first, then clean up the interconnecting card (the bit the user display PCB plugs into). If it was the user display that was not communicating with...

unusual obsolete part - GW SpaceSaver 45-60B any one help?

Forgot to mention (had no room - verbose git) I am a trainer/tech support guy for CH (national) company and can provide you with a few (public domain - honest) manuals/fault finding/service guides etc on CD/DVD of your choice...obviously 2nd hand parts will be more than acceptable...the DeLonghi...

unusual obsolete part - GW SpaceSaver 45-60B any one help?

I am trying to source an obsolete part for a Glow Worm SpaceSaver 45-60B (boiler GC no. 4131564). Part is a thermocouple gland seal plate - makers part no. M8334, GC no.of part 351971. 2 x "number 3" shaped bits of metal to seal T/C+pilot tube. I don't EVER fit second hand parts but this is...
