    Customers from hell!

Not quite true, you must admit (and some posts here give instances and examples) there are an awful lot of people out there, still working as plumbers and electricians etc etc, that are definately neither qualified or professional. And nobody seems prepared to shop them. :?

No Rob, i am not making it up. But it is what they or their work colleagues tell me. So maybe they are making it up...just another addition maybe to the constant Bull.

    Customers from hell!

Oh and in addition....nearly all the 'people who have come to the house to do work' are making loads more money than me, especially plumbers. They have bigger houses and flash cars. But thats not what life is about as far as I'm concerend. I would rather be honest and fair, and enjoy life...

    Customers from hell!

I apologise, 'workmen' was the wrong choice of word. i used it only to cover all 'people who come to the house, plumbers, electricians, builders. labourers etc etc' And no. I would'nt call my solicitor a workman, but he is a professional, and I am sorry to say that I have'nt had a professional...

hey you guys, Give us customers a break  Yes, I agree that Mike has got a particularly awkward one here. But like any relationship, it takes two. You guys need to take a step back too, and look at things from a customers point of view. As Mike says But how do we know who are the...

shower pump stays on, is it the flowswitch??

Hi, Our shower pump has suddenly started staying on after we have switched the power shower off. The only way we can get it to switch off is to turn it off at the wall, then turn it back on again. I have done a search on this forum for any previous posts, but the only one seems to intimate...

    curved walls skirting?

Further update. I applied Dulux Damaged Treatment over the kerfs on the fitted skirting. I applied it with a brush. The brush marks sanded beautifully smooth after it was dry. The curved skirting is now painted and looks brilliant! I can definitely recommend that Dulux stuff and will be...

    shower pump connection gone wierd

No probs grrinc! As you say, your posts and replies could be quite helpful. I'm pleased yours is sorted. Softus: I don't have a lot of confidence in these plumbers. Reasons: Pipes postioned outside the kitchen sink unit and not in it, despite me showing them a line on the wall where...

    shower pump connection gone wierd

Thanks for all your help. Talking to the plumber yesterday, it seems that the shower pipes have been blanked off and so he thinks air is in them. When the new shower is tested and the pipes have been reconnected etc, we will see if that sorts it. If not, we will take your advice and get some...

    Outside tap not on straight

Careful if you decide to tighten the tap to straight position. We just had a new outside tap fitted by plumbers. When we used it for the first time, it came off in our hands. The thread had sheared...we think thro over tightening.

    shower pump connection gone wierd

We have a 3bar pump in the airing cupboard which powers 2 showers. It has been installed for 6 years. It has always been noisy but ONLY when the shower is turned on (same old, same old). BUT since we have had an extension built and the plumbers turned off the water etc in the early days, the...

I have the plastic ajustable feet like scrit's pictures but how do you actually pull the plinth off? Is it a case of putting something behind at one end and levering it off? I am concerned about damaging my nice new plinths!

Corian or Rausolid Worktops. Which is best value?

I'm having corian (Dupont) worksurfaces fitted on the 30th. I have'nt had them before, so cannot help with advice. But I have chosen corian over granite because it can be repaired. Also people I speak to that have granite, tend to say that it is difficult to keep clean. I have asked advice...
