    Have you thought about the Triton Workcentre. It's pretty accurate and if you are only doing DIY it can be folded away. have a look on Ebay might be able to pick up a decent one for less than £150 Harry

    Lower the ledger board if you have not already fixed and just sit them on top of the ledger board, remember to leave a gap for rainwater to drain off and scew nail them in. Harry

    The builders have just managed to drag a sofa across my recently stained and varnished pine floorboards and caused some light but visible scratch marks. Is there any way of removing the scratches without having to resand the whole room again. Thanks Harry

    Get yourself a Ryobi, I think its the Ws6613 (Cant remember the exact model) this unit has been discontinued so you can pick one up for around £50 on Ebay. Its 1300W so plenty of power for any type of wood. I would give the Argos stuff a miss it pays in the end to pick a decent make unless you...

    Would the composite not be too slip when wet considering it is just plastic. Why would you want to pay the extra cost for concrete piers when you can use engineered blocks. Harry

    Screwing Deck Boards and spacing

    If you look at all the American sites on decking and they do a lot of decking over there they recommend screwing down on all joists to stop the boards bouncing. The gap between boards seems to be personal preference, its only to let the water drain away. Harry

    I am no deck expert but You may have a case with building Regs, those posts do not look big enough to support that structure so high off the ground. Health and safety issue I reckon. H
