Zanussi Jetsystem 1300 XC - Stuck in drain mode

No worries folks, I managed to get it out from under the counter on my own and as soon as i took the cover off the control board it was obvious - big black tracks where it had burnt into the circuit. This is the same as what happened on my old Zanussi, so i'll be changing brand this time...

Zanussi Jetsystem 1300 XC - Stuck in drain mode

Hi all, I was recently gifted a Zanussi Jetsystem 1300 XC (FJ1354S) as my parents wanted a new machine to go with they're soon to be new kitchen. It's been fine for a few washes but now, it's stuck in drain mode. With the door open the drain constantly runs, with the door closed it also...

    Electrics Safety Checks

It's fun! I found all sorts - from antique light switches and light bulb packaging to piles of plaster and 3-phase wiring for the retail premesis downstairs!

    Replacing Fuse wire with MCBs

I hadn't really been out the back! I haven't moved in yet, thats this weekends job, i've just been popping by now and then to do a few bits and pieces. Most notably, check everything works and is safe, get energy suppliers set up and get my network cabling installed - much easier in empty...

    Replacing Fuse wire with MCBs

I decided just to continue the current thread... I discovered somthing pretty nasty today while i was taking the bins out... Yes that is normal cable being strung out of an unsealed hole in the back of my house around the yard wall, to an unterminated end! I have to hope it's...

    Energy saving lamps

Only if you buy a brand new one which will then depreciate by 50% of it's value in one year. Always better off buying 1 year old cars than new.

Large(ish) Home Cinema Install - Lots of pictures!

Carpet only works down to about 1-2kHz or so... You need somthing thicker and space it at least a quarter wavelength from the wall for maximum absorption.

    Memera2000AD MCB's

The HiFi people are nuts.... At my university they have one of the best listening rooms in the world, has it got unicorn threaded mains cable? Not a chance, bog standard stuff. It really makes no difference. You're better off spending it building your room properly.

Large(ish) Home Cinema Install - Lots of pictures!

Hehe, just because i know how to design one doesn't mean i have the budget for it!

Thats why i keep all mine on the RAID backed fileserver. I've lost data before - when one of my external disks set on fire (literally).

Hitachi TV - Dry Joint Problem - Is This DIYable?

We did, but they were so expensive the OP's is likely to be CRT. Finding the joint will be difficult at best, you'll also need very steady hands and a fine tip temperature controlled iron to do a proper job. £75 is a reasonable sort of price, but really i wouldn't bother as once one part...

Large(ish) Home Cinema Install - Lots of pictures!

I was going to go on a long winded reply, but i can't be bothered at the end of the day if you're happy with it that's all that matters. I'm just picky because my degree is in Acoustics and a large part of that is small room design/treatment.

Large(ish) Home Cinema Install - Lots of pictures!

You should really damp all your first order reflections at a minimum, so thats the first direct reflection points on the back and side walls plus ceiling. That coffee table will be causing more problems than it solves ;) It's a good sized room so your modes will be nicely spread out. But...

Large(ish) Home Cinema Install - Lots of pictures!

What kind of acoustic treatment have you gone for? What are the room dimensions and wall materials (the front wall as you say is front skin plasterboard with rock wool behind - whats the wall behind that made of?)

What have you done about cooling? There looks to be no circulation for the kit rack and the TV

Please identify what type of wiring I have from these photos

I don't know what you expect people to be able to tell you from this... You've got old colour scheme wiring but theres nothing wrong with that. Personally i'd have the CU replaced as that looks like fuses and old ones at that. To determine how the place is wired you'd have to do...

    Oooh! Shiny New Forum!

Only if you're getting a needle bending signal strength and listening to it on a HiFi is there really any point. When you consider the vast majority of listeners - in the car or little portable radios it really doesn't matter. DAB brings more stations previously only available online and on...

    Oooh! Shiny New Forum!

No you pick up DAB on a DAB radio, you can probably get DAB already - lots of places had this long before DVB-T was available. See http://www.uk-dab.info for info on DAB And http://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview/Channels for DVB-T channels (including Radio)
