Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

I believe that the NICEIC have had the info but I haven't. The NICEIC will reinspect after the job to ensure that it complies.

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

The approved plan is to remove the existing 3layer capping and replace with earthed steel plates screwed to the wall in exactly the same route and then dry walled over.

No not boarded over at all. I am still waiting for the problem to be rectified. The NICEIC found the work done by Clarkson Evans to be non compliant as everyone here rightly indicated. The company technical director Steve Clarkson disagrees with their findings but has been ordered to carry...

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

There are no battens on the wall just dot and dab- you are mistaking the hessian clad 15mm copper pipe on the left for batten I presume? There is also a 10mm copper pipe in white plastic trunking on the very edge of the cut that was going to the removed rad. The existing plasterboard is 10mm...

Rang niceic and they will only get involved when Taylor Wimpey have agreed as they are the ultimate contractor of the sparky. Tails in the cavity would be ideal but apparently that's a no no according to the installers yesterday, although I swear I read somewhere recently that they can be if...

Just a thought re the SWA in cavities not being allowed- how come the mains live is coming in through the cavity into the distrib board? ? 3mm plate would protect it according to this forum...

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

Can you get 16mm SWA tails and if so, there's surely no way that they'd fit in that 35mm channel? It sounds like the outside route is going to have to be the option. What about running them on the right of the window in the corner of the room ?? Who can I get to check this over...

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

Fancy a trip to Cardiff to sort it for me? What about if the tails were in that trunking posted earlier would that make it comply if it were earthed and protected with an rcd? Who should I call in the relevant trade body to get this checked out after they have been tomorrow?

Direct entry at that corner, from outside, would still be 2.5feet from the rear of the consumer unit which would then have to be moved. This is rapidly turning into a nightmare scenario.

Damaged a meter neutral feed cable to CU

Ok the $64000000 question is how to resolve this problem and where would the route be to comply with new regs? The cavity is out as it's apparently not allowed, so what alternative route is there? That thermal block is like butter and now it has a 35mm channel in it there's not much left of it!

No not at the top as they said that it was within so many mm of the ceiling which is allowed under 17th ed regs. The height from where the capping starts to the ceiling is 85mm at present. I'm not sure what's going on with those 3 horizontal cappings as I didn't see that bit going on. One...
