    Harris Customer Services Excellence

I recently had a problem with a Harris product. The understanding, assistance and responce I received from Mr N Parsons in their Quality Assurance Department was excellent. It was refreshing to find a company which offered no excuses, acknowledged the problem and forwarded a replacement to...

    A Tale to Tell

Yes I suppose by the very fact that the Cuprinol product was in excellent condition and usable while the Ronseal one was deplorable it is an advertisement for Cuprinol. It happens that it was Cuprinol which did what it said on the tin. You could hardly expect me to recommend Ronseal after my...

    Decking paint

Ronseal and Cuprinol etc make products for removing old coatings prior to recoating. Personally I like Cuprinol Decking Treatment as you can simply coat over it ( with itself ) each year. You might have a look at their website. HITBIT

Stop Cats ****ting in front garden

Some issue passports to make them feel at home. I would like rid of them and their ****. I don't spend thousands of € and endless hours to make our garden a haven for vermin. If I had my way the filthy ******** would have to wear id tags like dogs and their owners made to pay for the damage they...

Raised Decking - How much support?

Assemble the new frame, bolt it to the old frame ( if it is in sound condition ). Use temporary timber legs like 2x2 from frame to ground to ensure new frame is level. Pick your spots, remove any grass, dig down about 3 inches use a little gravel, you can make a mix of gravel and cement if you...

    Centres for decking joists.

Hi, The recommendation is to set the joists at 400mm centres. It is pointless to mount expensive, quality decking boards over a weak frame. A little like building a good house on poor foundations. Remember decking boards are easily replaced ( if screwed rather than nailed down ). The framework...

    A Tale to Tell

It may say it does what it says on the tin but it does not say that whats in the tin may come as a big surprise. I recently purchased some Decking Oil 1 x 5 ltr tin in one major Irish owned Dublin hardware store and 2 x 2.5 ltr tins in a Dublin branch of a very major UK owned. Both very...
