CCTV DVR + 4 Cam Kits

IMHO I would say that 420TVL on those cameras is more than adequate when recording on a DVR of that caliber. You won't really see the benefits of a camera with a higher resolution. As for the IR range, you would be better creating more ambient light in the location as opposed to relying on...

CCTV DVR + 4 Cam Kits

The eBuyer kit is 100% better, that DVR that is supplied is absolutely brilliant for such a budget peice of kit. The only thing I would say is, don't be fooled by the 10M night time range. The IR lamps on those type of cameras are a bit week, it will be 10M best case scenario. Also a...

    Hot water boiling over

What do you mean by this interconnecting pipe, and where should it go? Also, the drawing is the way the cylinder is plumbed, is it right or wrong? I have double checked the pipes when I first put the HW on and the bottom pipe definitely gets hot first.

    Hot water boiling over

Thanks methaneman75, the boiler was only moved about 2 metres from the middle of the kitchen wall to a cupboard in the corner. And from what I can tell, the expansion pipe is before the pump (I presume by before you mean on the return pipe). I have attached a quick rough sketch of the plumbing...

    Hot water boiling over

Hi I have recently had my boiler moved, all well and good. But it seems that ever since I had it moved, whenever JUST the hot water is on it seems to "boil over" out of the expansion pipe and into the header tank, then subsiquently over-flow all over my drive way. When the CH is on at the...

    cctv advice

There is no issue with baluns. All a balun does is balance an unbalanced video signal so it can be sent over twisted pair. As for speed domes, unless being monitored leave alone, they are not as effective as a few statics in their place, 480TVL is plenty. The DVR also doesn't need to be...

    cctv advice

Alot of it depends on location and application etc.. Do your external cameras require Infra-red lamps (i.e. night time veiwing)? Do they need to be vandal proof? Are your internal cameras veiwing genral areas etc..? As for a DVR, you will be looking at a 16 channel unit, the HDD size will all...

How much should I be paying?

The boiler is an "Ideal Classic FF260". It looks to be around 3-4, max five years old judging by the condition of the boiler and connecting pipe work. Thanks for replys so far.

How much should I be paying?

Hi everyone My boiler lives in my kitchen and just happens to be bang smack in the middle of the wall. I want it moving into a cupboard/pantry near by, approx 1.5 mtrs away. I have had a plumber look at it and he says it can be done "no problem". All the pipes come from the cupboard so they...

    FAULTY AERIAL AMPLIFIER?DISTRIBUTER

Thanks. I have spoke to someone else today who told me the same. My amp has no adjustable gain so I will fit a signal attenuator on the input. :D

    FAULTY AERIAL AMPLIFIER?DISTRIBUTER

We can get all channels on digital and analogue either with or without the amplifier, the problem is when i plug the amplifier in. Why would plugging an amplifier in mean i need to retune my analogue channels? I assume our signals come from Emley Moor, as that seems to be where our aerial is...

    FAULTY AERIAL AMPLIFIER?DISTRIBUTER

I am doing a lot of work at home and one of the jobs was to throw a load of aerial cables all over to all rooms. I have also fitted new UHF and DAB aerials:D . I bought a Philex SLX8L 8-way distribution system. I have connected everything up and Digital tv works fine except the odd bit of...
