LG Direct Drive Washing Machine - no power

Hi all. Our beloved LG F1247TD Direct Drive washing machine has stopped powering up. What I have tried to date: Replace fuse. Try in different socket. Try other appliances in the washing machine's socket to prove socket ok. Clean out water filter at front (couple of small coins and some bits...

    Bl**dy dishwasher

Firstly because a professional electrician told me the old one was likely to be knacked. Secondly cos the old one was about 6 years old and we'd had to replace a couple of things on it already. Thirdly because the wife said 'buy a new one'.... So I did. :D

    Bl**dy dishwasher

Thanks chaps. I'm off on hols in the morning so I'll pick up when I'm back. John D.... 'good practice' doesn't come into much of our house. The guy we bought it from did much of the conversion himself.:cry::cry:

    Bl**dy dishwasher

So to summarise: Socket 'works' for other electrical items. eg Charged phone from it. Dishwasher replaced - so highly unlikely to be the same fault from both dishwashers (Old one 'developed' fault, new one caused it straight away) Other sockets on different rings round the house also cause...

    Bl**dy dishwasher

Wouldn't have thought that could be the case as both old machine and new one result in the same fault - ie the mains trip. It is the main switch outside which trips, not the circuit board inside?

    Bl**dy dishwasher

Hi all, Dishwasher plugged into socket in the kitchen started tripping the electrics (Main switch outside, not the circuit boards inside). Otherwise that socket works fine. Electrician round to look at socket etc and said all was fine. Therefore we all agreed problem with dishwasher which is...

New circuit board - Spark reckons thousands!!!

Bear with me on this one: Came home from holiday last week - live in the countryside and converted farmhouse split into two. Ours is part old build, part new (c15 years old). Electrics tripping, initially just when something high power used (eg shower) but now regularly to the extent...

    Shower tripping main fuse

Apologies for lack of technical speak. I know nothing of electrics. Came back from hols and couple of days later the hoover caused the msin switch to fuse. Now the shower keeps tripping the electric. It's the upstairs shower. Did it about 4 times. Upstairs shower. Tried the downstairs shower...

    Central heating flow/pump diagnosis

My house is split into two - being an older part and an extension. My CH is warming the old part of the house that houses the boiler, but the new part takes an age for rads to warm. My thought was is the pump not working, took bleed nut off and with a small screwdriver it spins freely...

Septic Tank - replacing - advice needed

We have an old fashioned brick septic tank. It is increasingly frequently overflowing - particularly after emptying bath etc. After yet another evening with my arm down the drain trying to find a blockage enough is enough - time to replace it. Although I have used the forum for advice to go...

Quick update - tonnes of WD40 no help, so got blowtorch and heated the centre spindle up a fair amount - then it just pulls off easy peasy. Rest was a doddle......other than getting the nut back on - trying to take it off has damaged the thread - but got it back on.....just. All working and...

Fixing fan - oven - quick question

Right - so got the nut and washer off - let some WD40 sink in and not got it so that the fan can spin whilst the D nut is held stationary - am I trying to twist it off or pull it off?
