Baxi 800 incorrect temperature reading on hot water

My daughter has a Baxi 800 and when she turns on the hot water, it fires up, goes slightly warm, then turns off. Despite the temperature actually being around 30°, it displays around 50°+ so the boiler thinks it has reached the desired temperature. Thoughts?

    Radiator water temperature

With soaring bills I am wondering what the most economical setting for the water temperature of the radiator system. There is no temperature gauge on my Worcester Bosch 24si II but there is a dot on the dial. My thoughts are if the radiators heat up quicker, then the pump works less and may...

Replacing a non-earthed flourecent light strip fitting with an led. Earth?

I want to replace an under-the-counter light strip which is not earthed (the whole fitting is plastic) with an led one. Currently the connector is just live and neutral so there is no requirement to be earthed. Looking at led ones, they have an earth on their connector plugs. Is it required...

Help! Can you identify this toilet manufacturer?

My seat needs replacement but am having no joy finding it. 3 years ago when we moved in, the toilet had just been installed by the previous owner. I captured the picture here. Does anyone recognise the logo? The seat is 470mm from the hinge to the front edge and is 370mm wide. I've scoured...

Can you identify this toilet manufacturer?

My toilet seat needs replacing. It's about 3 years old and was fitted just before I moved in to a part complete house. I captured it on a photo whilst the sticker was still on the inside lid. zooming in it looks like "Oki"?? If I can identify it, I have half a chance of ordering a replacement...

    Fixing plasterboard straight onto wall

I have removed doors and architrave from a doorway between the lounge and dining room and am going to separate the two. I am using wooden struts to fill the gap and then plasterboard the whole width of the wall, either side. Can I attach plasterboard direct to the wall or are further batons...

    Becoming a full time tiler

I was a tiler in Spain where all the jobs were cash paid and the cost of living was low so despite being inundated with work, there was no worries if I didn't work for a week or two. I do the occasional job for people I know but am thinking of going self employed as my current job as an advisor...

Baxi 105e Instant. Replacing DHW diaphragm - how difficult?

All of a sudden, we now have to turn on our hot water taps full on ( and sometimes two taps) just to get the hot water to kick in, with or without the CH on. After reading previous topics and utilising my own mechanical common sense, I have come to the conclusion I need to replace the DHW...

Baxi 105e tripping when running hot water

My boiler cuts out whilst usually running a bath and leaves the green 50 (thermometer logo) light on constantly. If I leave it for 30 seconds and reset the dial, it comes on again. I read the manual and it indicates either the overheat sensor or the pcb. I replaced the sensor because it was...

    Tiling professionally in the UK

I spent 2 1/2 years living in Spain where I trained as a tiler. I have now returned to the UK and would like to start up. I realize that tecniques are quite different here. A lot more effort is placed on creating perfectly flat surfaces like using plasterboard for example or having an uneven...

    Baxi 105e keeps blowing fuses

My Baxi 105e trips fuses in the fused spur when running hot water whilst central heating is running. It doesn't happen every time but has done this about 10 times in the past two months. I fitted and RCD protected fused spur but this hasn't tripped indicating earth leakage, it blew the fuse...
