    Replace Aquastream with unpowered mixer

Breeze block internal wall (extension). Yes I have tools but no longer want the hassle of lifting tiles, chasing walls and retiling. I think it must be possible to run exposed chrome pipework into a thermostatic mixer. I've almost answered my own question since the time that I published it!

    Replace Aquastream with unpowered mixer

Good evening I have removed a worn-out Aqualisa Aquastream from my downstairs shower. The pipes are rear-entry 65mm between centres into a chased-out wall. The pump was unnecessary (and not used) given the drop from my hot and cold tanks (and was too noisy anyway). Of course modern thermostatic...

    Aerjec or Pump?

They ought to put a little "gunge trap" in the bottom that can be unscrewed and drained / scraped out!

    Aerjec or Pump?

The new Aerjec (and a new control board for the boiler //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=829136#829136) has done the trick. 8 scalding radiators - first time for years! Autopsy is being performed on the old Aerjec (which is an empty can with 4 pipes soldered on) but looking through...

    Would you believe it!

A replacement control board from Ebay (darren771177) has done the trick. At last the house is getting warm.

Thanks. Understand the risks (C.Eng and all that). I presume if it sparks ok then I'll need a gas expert to investigate the other end or is that "safely" accessible too?

    Would you believe it!

Hi. No sparking. I read somewhere that if I create a 4mm gap between the PCB ignition output and ground I should get a spark if the PCB is okay. I suppose that is the next logical step.

I'd LOL except I'm a bit fed up today. Tried three puimps. Water circulation is great with the new Aerjec, just the boiler has gone into stroppy child mode. Tossing the coin for Control PCB or CORGI expert.

After week of struggling //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=122815 //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=122599 .. I have now cracked my flow rate problem and replaced the Aerjec. Clogged is an inadequate adjective for the old one. Gunge and scale to the extreme. It was a...

    Aerjec or Pump?

Thanks to both for your feedback. Yes it's been plumbed iaw the "standard" instructions (often hyperlinked from this forum). Been installed for over 15 yearss (i.e. before we came here). Last week I thought the magnet test was inconclusive, but just to show I'm not a stubborn old so-and-so...

    Aerjec or Pump?

I am trying to workout whether I’ve got a dodgy pump or an Aerjec problem (Aerjec is between header tank and pump inlet). I am absolutely convinced that all other parts of my system are free-flowing (hosed through all radiator circuits - excellent flow rate), but I just can't get 8 rads hot...

Two Pump or not Two Pump? That is the question

Ok Hi Agile (if you're still watching!).. In terms of estimated order of path length from the boiler (1 is nearest): ----------------------------- Upstairs 1) Nice and hot 2) Cold 3) Fairly hot 4) fairly hot ----------------------------- Downstairs 5) Just about warm 6) Cold 7)...

Two Pump or not Two Pump? That is the question

Quick response. Thanks. ** I get the message - never fit 2 pumps! ** Don't think I said "power" flush. I've had some radiators (ones that just would not get warm) off and cleaned through with a garden hose. Then I used mains water around the circuit, one radiator at a time, (connecting...

Two Pump or not Two Pump? That is the question

I watched my CH slowly degrade over the past months until I finally blocked it up completely with all my draining and flushing. Thanks to tips on this site I finally got some normality back - but it's not perfect. It's a vented system. Did have a Myson Unit 3 pump which I replaced with a...
