have installed a Redring Expressions 500 six months ago. more recently have had problems with water getting too hot. even when the flow contol valve is fully open-maximum flow-the overheat neon lights up presumably because the thermal cut-out has operated. appreciate that input temp is higher at...

No Cold Water going from tank to Bathroom Taps...

another suspect would be the gate valve that shuts off the cold supply to bathroom. older gate valves can stay closed because the spindle has broken, but this is not obvious as the wheel-head can still turn. does the wheel-head turn and turn in an anti clockwise direction? otherwise, try...

No Cold Water going from tank to Bathroom Taps...

why has it only been working fine for "months"? have you drained it in the past? if you have not touched any gate valves, ie - closed and opened them, then suspect crud from bottom of cistern is partially blocking cold pipes to taps.

Protherm 80E combi F1 overheat error & leaking mystery

AS A TEMPORARY MEASURE - AFTER ALL- IT MAY ONLY NEED A NEW O-RING, YOU COULD TRY SOME LSX JOINTING COMPOUND ON THE ORIGINAL O-RING. YOU WILL NEED TO DRAIN THE BOILER, AFTER ISOLATING THE ELECTRICS, BY TURNING OFF THE HEATING FLOW AND RETURN VALVES. THE DRAIN POINT IS IS JUST TO THE LEFT OF...

Ventpipe in F&E Tank is constantaly running.....

if you`r certain you have the pump flowing in the correct direction, then the cold feed from the F&E cistern, usually a 15mm pipe, should tee into the flow pipe( from the boiler)-on the suction side of the pump. within 6ins of this, the vent pipe (usually 22mm) should tee in, beyond the...
