Hi,
Last night my vokera boiler stopped producing hot water. I opened it up and noticed that when the hot water was turned on the activatvation arm (?) was not being pushed out as it should be. I was able to coax it to come out by pulling on it, but it was very stiff to move. When out the microswitch clicked, the boiler fired and the water got hot. It stayed fired whilst the water stayed on. -EDIT- This worked last night, but when I have just tried to have a shower, even though the boiler fired, the water didn't get hot, and it looked like there wasn't much gas burning through the little window. After reading a few posts it seems that it might be the diaphram. There have been a few other indications. The hot water has been cycling between hot and warm for a while, and I read that this can be indicative of the diaphram going. It has also taken more and more water pressure to make it fire over time.
Assuming it is the diaphram, any advice on how easy/difficult doing this myself would be? Which parts I'll need and where I might get them in Brighton/Hove? How much it should cost to get a pro to do it?
Any ideas what might cause this? Can it be fixed with a bit of oil/wd40? Any advice at all.
Thanks very much
Sam
