Hi I think other than the insulation above the joists before the OSB went down everything has gone alright as I can allow the extra insulation below them before plaster boarding. It's a far cry from a few weeks ago when I was just going to throw up some rockwool, which is the worst stuff to...

    Flat roof insulation

Thanks I did look at LEDs but they are quite pathetic when you need bright light especially when preparing food etc plus wanted to have them on dimmers so they can be on the lowest light for ambiance or walk throughs, all planned though with wires ready to be connected. Just need to raid...

    Flat roof insulation

Okay, done some searches and found relevant products to use as follows; 75mm Jablite Jabfloor70 pushed up tight to OSB3 then 100mm Celotex XR3100z up to that, joints sealed with foil backed tape, with voids around the downlights Leaves a gap of 5mm (gutter) to 25mm (wall) to bottom of...

    Flat roof insulation

That does seem very excessive and a total waste of money if full filling, no offence, especially if using a solid insulation board like Celotex/Xtratherm that is foiled both sides and apparently proven to be better than fibre insulation. This is a retro fit, as it's an old extension and the...

    Flat roof insulation

Hi I have an extension which is my kitchen, it has a flat roof which has been covered in EPDM, having had all the light wiring done I'm just about to insulate using Celotex or Xtratherm 1200x2400x100mm (3 boards required) between the joists, once this has being done I was going to put up...

formica, high pressure laminate, melamine sheet...where from

It hasn't got one and is square edged, have some iron on edging strip to deal with that. It's an old 1920's mansion block of flats in Central London so have to find a solution to the problem.

formica, high pressure laminate, melamine sheet...where from

Not really, as I wanted something rigid to cover an existing sill and evostick the laminate to it to give an unblemished surface.

formica, high pressure laminate, melamine sheet...where from

Actually was after the laminate itself and not one stuck to chipboard i.e. Conti-Board etc. Used to be readily available years ago for all those dodgy home furniture projects. Looks like you have to go through a manufacturer these days. Don't know why because its nothing special.

formica, high pressure laminate, melamine sheet...where from

white, smooth gloss or satin. Needed it for a job tomorrow for a window sill in a kitchen flat so have now brought some 5mm ply, which will be primed/undercoated and satinwood top coated. And a dam sight cheaper by all accounts. But a supplier in West/central London would be good to know...

formica, high pressure laminate, melamine sheet...where from

As title suggests, used for a multitude of crap and very high priced (kitchens from JL/PJ) furniture.. but ...... where can I get the stuff in sheet form? Need a piece 110x30cm but not willing to pay a stupid price for it. Some one must know where I can get it from. And don't...

    Fencing - What is it?

 Don't you just love it. The bogit & quit is nice but no cigar, in terms of asthetics or client wishes, not double hoop or what I showed in the first post. The wickes ones would just look nasty imho as they are for brick walls. last word from the customer is that he's got one of his...

    Fencing - What is it?

Did think of that i.e. cut them down but then you have to put it all together in the first place. Should have pointed out that it's for a customer so quicker the better/easier. Now who would have known they were called Kennett railings  I went to B&Q's biggest store just opened in New...

    Fencing - What is it?

Cheers Dave Shortest height they do is 1 metre which is far too high as it needs to be something you (an adult) could step over whilst keeping a toddler from wandering into the pond. They also only, by the looks of it, supply the individual hoops and the horizontal bars. Was looking for...

    Fencing - What is it?

Funny enough have tried ALL of them as well as searching through google. No luck. That's why I'm asking here, as someone must know.

    Fencing - What is it?

Any one know where I can get this fencing from and what is it actually called? Seen it used on public properties and want some to fence off a pond in the garden, measures about 18" - 2' high and it's not the bendy pvc coated one. Rounded hoop something or other but not sure? Any...
