    Patching up holes in chipboard flooring

    We need to repair a couple of holes in chipboard flooring which is laid on engineered i-joists. Do you have any advice on how to support the square edges of the new chipboard pieces given the nature of i-joists? Unfortunately it is unclear to us how to attach support/noggins to these joists...

    Any thoughts here as to the provenance of this, just so I can make best use? I thought it might be something a trainee would make, rather than a hobby item. Some of the tools it originally had looked like they could be a farriers. Not sure why it'd be lockable. Ideas welcome!
