The Jews get a ton of stick from around the world. They have been constantly victimised etc. That is bang out of order.

Israel is surrounded by mad mullahs. All wanting death to Israel.

Social media and the gutter press all gang up on the Jews.

80 years ago the Jews were slaughtered and couldn't stand up for themselves. Now they can! And people don't like that. Why? Because they have been brought up to hate the Jew, to hate Israel....

I agree with much of that. The hatred from many of the Muslims who surround Israel is obvious.

Then there are those on the far left who call themselves anti-Zionists, many of whom honestly are just opposing Israeli excesses, but some of whom cross over into anti-Semitism.

What we hadn't really seen much of for many years, though, were the classic anti-Semitic tropes about Jews controlling the world and being responsible for all our ills. It is that sort of classic anti-Semitism which is now having a major resurgence on the far right. Including on the Christian right in the USA.

Rationally analysing someones posts and pointing out flaws and contradictions in them is not trolling.

I did not argue with Highway Man cynically, or to create conflict, or just for the sake of it as some kind of perverse fun.

I was being completely sincere, and genuine, and honest, and not being the slightest disingenuous.

If someone says he'd kill someone for stealing his tools and then tries to claim that he wasn't saying he'd commit murder then the reality of what simply and premeditatedly killing people as extra-judicial punishment is needs to be explained to them.

I posted what I did because I believe with all my heart and soul that it was the right thing to do.

You may disagree about that. You might think that its perfectly OK for someone to say that they'd deliberately take the life of another human being if they stole from you and to claim that it would not be murder.

But you have no grounds to impugn my motives if I say I don't think that.

But if we are to have any chance of defusing that then one of the things we need is an honest discussion about the extent to which that hatred is a millennia-long Islam vs Judaism religious hatred, how much is down to the way that Israel behaves, and how much has been taught to them by Europeans, who have a much longer, much more widespread, and much more extreme history of antisemitism.
