1 Degree Too Low

Elsewhere on this forum I said that I had problems getting the degree zero at the top and not the bottom of the number, eg 15o. Empip suggested that while holding down the Alt key, I should key in 0176 and the problem would be solved. However, when this didn't work for me, someone else suggested that the Numbers lock should be on, but still I couldn't get the required result. Now I ackowledge that I really am computer illiterate and that the answer must be really simple, but it is only simple if you know how.

Empip's suggestion:9o, 80

Other suggestion: 9o, 8o

Hold down the "Alt" on your keyboard and type the numbers 0176 on the "numeric pad" while you're holding down that key, when you release the Alt key the degrees symbol should appear.
