12 Recessed downlighters

Is it possible to have about 12 recessed downlighters in back kitchen, and all worked off the one switch?
And if so, what would be best, LV or mains lights?

depends on lamp rating, but you can, but not a good idea, (all on all off, blinded or cant see)

your choice of mains or 12v, some say one some say other
