12 volt ride in Toy Car potentiometer

some have two speeds.. 2.5mph and 5.0mph.. Any idea how they achieve that...? because that would suffice for me..

You could wire up a double-pole double-through switch as follows to switch between series and parallel.

I've seen 5amp / 15 amp and 30 amp versions....

Its to control the speed on 12 volt twin 35watt motors..
