What makes are good and what should I avoid?
Good makes from the UK include Bennett's of Sheffield. German makes include Stehle, Leitz, Oppold and TopLine. Freud Industrial are also good. Basically if you have a decent sw doctor locally (i.e. one who sharpens and repairs in house) you probably won't go wrong if you ask and take their advice on blades. The always know a hell of a lot more about the subject than the pox-faced little oiks who inhabit tool shop counters these days
