Is there a science/reason for whether to use 15 or 22mm pipework to connect to rads? Surely, 22 is more costly and looses more heat when boiler stat cuts in? My current house uses 22 and tees off to 15, sometimes carries on from there with 15 to other rads, but the way the work was done in the rest of the house eg wiring and general building work, I dunno what to trust!

Many thanks for any help.

Simplest way of finding out is to get 3 independent quotes and ask for specific details to be provided to help you make a "like for like" comparison. You can question them for their thoughts since they are there and can actually see the job.
