Bought a 16a ceiling switch earlier this afternoon to use in my bathroom.

Just wondering if I should have got the 6a one or is the 16a one ok?

It's ok to use, but it's almost certainly double pole (live in, live out, neutral in, neutral out). It may or may not have a neon indicator.

Usually you would use a 6-10 amp single pole (live in, live out) pull switch.

didn't know they did them. Where did you get it from ?

Does it need a good pull to make it work? Might that getting annoying and loud for a light switch ?

Crabtree make 16 amp pull cords, I tend to use them for manual bathroom fans.
