Any comments?

Personally I've spent the past 2 weeks laughing at kitchen fitters

As I understood it 230v with a plug-in RCD is now allowed negating the need to lug a heavy tranny around.

Not got the red book just yet.

Anybody who has confirm?

The 110 volt or Reduced Low Voltage System (RLVS) is not affected by the 17th Edition.

BS 7671 and BS 7375 still don't agree :D.

It is an inherently safe system that will not kill you - in dry conditions- even if it fails to disconnect. You cannot say the same for RCD protection.

BTW the indirect contact shock voltage can be shown to never exceed 40 volts regardless of system and fault type (not 55 or 63.5 as you might assume).
