17th edition RCD

Even with RCBOs everywhere you still lose a whole floor at once if a RCD trips.

sadly because everyond has turned a blind eye to this RCD sockets have remained prohibitively expensive. The fact that british RCD sockets don't have a RCD protected output on the back hasn't helped either.

What are foreign rcd sockets like then

May be the future,
Used as a first socket then continue Radial circuit fed from the back of it ,automatically rcd protecting the rest

Until someone decides to replace it, maybe tamperproof screws could be fitted
 
American GFCI (thier equivilent of a RCD) sockets have two sets of terminals, one for incoming power and one for further sockets to br protected. They are also far more reasonablly priced.

I dunno what the situation is in continental europe. The impression I get is that if RCD sockets exist there at all they are even rarer than they are here.
