Still working on our upstairs bathroom and having removed the old tiles and plasterboard above where the toilet was, I've got some pretty big gaps:-
Also got an issue where I'll have a gap where that 2x6 beam which you can see on the bottom right below the window is. I had hoped to leave it in place but my plan is to attach insulated backer boards to the bricks and it doesn't sit flush, so I'll have to remove it I think.
Someone had mentioned just using easifill or suchlike but I'm not sure - I was considering just using standard mortar but not sure if I need limestone mix?
Here's a picture of the back wall where I have the issue of filling the old backer board holes:-
Same issue here - Was just going to use some tube repair mortar to fill but will I be okay with that or could it cause problems down the line and I really need lime mortar? I just want these to be filled and hard incase I land up drilling right beside these gaps when attaching the new boards.
