my 1997 Ford Escort has developed an electrical fault, (Front side lights out and rear side lights out, also the interior cluster lights not working, and the fog lights out) the only lights working are my indicators, dipped and full beem head lights, and my brake lights. Any help would be appretiated.

[Sorry Linda, I didnt realise]

It might be a problem with a connection at the battery, i think the escorts have a few wires going to the positive battery terminal, one of these might be loose, corroded or broken, it sounds like you have lost a permanent live feed to the fuse box, (do your hazard lights work) You could test for power at the fuse box with a test light or multimeter
