Hi could anybody tell me how difficult it is to change the clutch on a 98 1.25 fiesta zetec, it is the one with the hyd bearing, can the bearing be bled if so where is the bleed nipple, also does the bottom cross member need to be removed to get the gear box out. thanks.

It's as straightforward as any fwd small vehicle, not too bad if you're used to it and equipped for it. You need to be able to support the motor/transmission assembly from above, the proper tool sits in the wells at either side of the engine bay but I've rigged up a decent enough apparatus using lengths of 2x4 timber and ropes. Not sure what you mean by cross member but you do have to remove the transmission bearer from the floor and the box (after supporting!) and you have to lower the unit down far enough for the transmission to clear the bodywork as it is drawn out. The bleed nipple for the clutch is where you would expect it to be, just forward of where the hydraulic pipe enters the gearbox. (The slave cylinder is located in the bell housing) If you shine a torch down the side of the battery you should be able to see it. It should have a rubber cover over it.
