This guy has 2 cold rads upstairs,one in the bathroom,and one in a small toilet room beside it. Its an old farmhouse and the previous owner plumbed the whole house himself. The pipework seems to be microbore on most of the rads,with a few rads 15mm. The lockshield valves seem really old,with what looks like a castellated nut below a black pin. Does anyone know how these adjust,they look ancient. He has bought 2 new rads, opened the wheel head valves,to see if they were working,and he said the water gushed out,so they seem o.k. He has told me he has managed to get heat for 30 mins,and then cold again.
