I have been having problems with the lighting in the bedroom. It is 2 lamps operated by 1 2 gang switch. There are 2 3 core cables (earth, red and black with red tabs). I am connecting the red of each cable to the common or L terminal and the black to the L1 terminal and the earths to the faceplate with a wire to the backplate.

Now, what happens is, 1 switch turns on 1 light and the other switch turns both lights on together. This is exactly the same layout as in the lounge and all is well. Anyone have any ideas as to what the fault could be.

Many thanks.

Follow this wiring diagram for each of the light circuits, treat each switch seperately even though they are co joined in 1 x f/plate.
