I am trying to connect a 2 gang (2 independent lights) dimmer in my kitchen.

The dimmer has 2 connector blocks- both with L1, L2, C.

I have 3 sets of wires as follows:

Wire A) Red, Black + Earth (From 1st Ceiling Light)
Wire B) Red, Black + Earth (From 2nd Ceiling Light)
Wire C) Red , Black + Earth (From Consumer Unit)

please what goes where?

I've connected but can't run the 2 lights indipendent of each other i.e. both sets of lights come on but operated from the one dimmer switch
thanks

i take it all blacks are in a choc bloc?

move one red from one switch to the other (one that goes to a light)
now only one light should work

link* from the cu red to the other switch (where you just put the other red)
this will now goive you 2 reds in 1 switch and 3 in the other (if you count the link twice)

* the link must be a red wire the same size as the red wires you have

sorry I'm lost?

Cu red + other red into c ? then run a link from here accross into other bloc and into L1 with the other red?

yes?

thanks again

all most.

red from cu to C, link from C to the other C

then red from each light into L1
