We are about to move into a house which has a gas fire in both reception rooms. They are very old and quite ugly so we'd like to remove them completely and just leave a hole in the chimney breast where they would have been.

Would someone be able to tell me how much it would be to get these turned off and removed?

Is removing them something that can be done yourself or would we need to get a builder in? If so, does anyone have any idea how much this would cost?

Any other info about removing gas fires would be much appreciated!
thanks

You need a Gas Safe engineer to remove the unwanted gas fires.

Generally no price assumptions are given on here.

Usually a fairly straight forward job, without seeing it,a couple of hours labour at most and a few fittings.
