    hello all,
Could you tell me the easiest way to fix this please? I’m fitting a new sink but the established pipe is a couple of inches away from the coupler on the U-bend thank you.

Coupling and a short section of pipe. May have to cut the existing back slightly to accommodate, but dont trim it too short or you wont get the coupling on. Or redo the entire section through the wall and reconnect the other side.

    Oh, and it's a Basin in a bathroom. ;)

Well, as much as I like the gaffa tape idea for its cost and simplicity given that I’m not a Plumber and all, I think Hugh’s idea might give me less grief from the missus, long term. I wondered if could use a short piece of pipe and use a collar and glue to connect to the bit in the wall? The problem is that this is an internal wall and the pipe goes into the wall then under the floor so I don’t have the luxury of re-doing it unfortunately.

Don’t go around telling too many people that you’re two inches short!

Swage the pipe and glue a new bit into it... If its ABS.

Or to practice and get it right, swage the new bit but it's better for the female end to be receiving the upstream male end :sneaky:

Is that for the benefit of the OP? Or me?
Cos I know how to do it!
And it won't work on pushfit pipe (pp).

Obviously you would know how to do it, as do I, so it was for the benefit of the OP.
